As I mentioned we had a family get together last weekend, when the plan to visit the Saltee Islands was thwarted by wind.
But, wind aside, it was glorious weather and we were able to fully enjoy the freshly groomed Ballyduff.
It was a wonderful weekend and I will go just so far as to say that the gathering was held in my honour to mark the midway point betweeen two significant birthdays.
So, instead of watching birds and seals.......
we eat..........
....and we drank and talked.
and we barbecued......
Neighbours dropped by.......
Naoise with Ollie, our closest neighbour on one side....
......and Alice with Brede, our closest neighbour on our other side.
We played frisby.......
..........and we went for for a beautiful evening walk..............
.........when Hannah created an eclipse.
Sue organised a logging detail to clear driftwood that was caught on the upstream side of the bridge.
.............and we ended up with a fine pile of wood for the chimenea that Naoise and Ashley gave me for my last 'significant' birthday.
It was a fabulous weekend, Ienjoyed every second of it and I thank them all for having given it to me.
