Well what a disappointment.

Hannah managed to dodge the ash and arrived in from London last night. (No that's not disappointing - it's a delight).

But the very wind that keeps blowing the Icelandic ash-cloud over us in Ireland has now blown our trip to the Saltees off course: a strong, persistent, and also damnably cold, north-easterly breeze caused the skipper of our craft to cancel the voyage.

However, our crew all agreed that they would still muster so we will now have the rations, prepared for the excursion, at the freshly-groomed Ballyduff.

And to help us get over our misery, I guess that the quartermaster may release a supplement to the regular rum quota!
