Well, it is done and, if I am to believe my family who loyally came along, it went well and, risking sounding boastful or smug, I won't demur because, although my terror increased and increased up until the very moment of delivery, I ended up enjoying it which presumably means that I think I did OK myself.
But, as I said, you will be able to judge for yourselves because, within a week or two, it will be on YouTube and the Ignite Dublin site. (I was wrong, by the way, when I said that only the successful performances were put-up: I understand that they all go up, if the performer consents.) And, since I will be consenting, I assume that must be further evidence that think I acquitted myself plausibly.
And the event that is Ignite is brilliant.
Eighteen utterly different and disparate utterances including: comedy; science; performance; music; politics; travel; postering and posturing; opinion and much more, delivered by an equally disparate cast: young; old (me) Irish; Canadian; Taiwanese; Italian; boys; girls; geneticists; aspirant politicians; lawyers and others.
I was well positioned at number 4 as it gave me a chance to see how others coped and then enjoy the thirteen presentations that followed me.
We, that is Sue, Naoise, Alice, Fergal and I really enjoyed the whole event and ended the night at Café H, Harry Crosbie's Tapas Bar on Grand Canal Square, which was appropriate because.......
..........Harry had featured in my presentation. - Even the mighty have humble beginnings!!
Follows, my twenty images in the order that they appeared.
I'll let you know when the presentations go up on the web when you can hear what I made of them and check out the other performers and............
.......... if anybody comes within an ass's roar of what I said they will get a prize!!
