I was walking in through the front door this morning when I spotted this...............

......a spider subueing a fly almost twice its own size.

And by the time we I went out again, only minutes later .........

.............. the job was done.

But, when I returned less than half an hour later..........

.............the fly was gone and.............

..........was stowed away in the spider's larder.

We are plagued by flies and flying creatures at the moment.

So much so that I spent more than an hour power-washing our rubbish area last night as Sue was convinced that it must be the cause.

But this morning the pristine area is once again infested.

Mind you the hens love them - they peck away at them like we would pick blackberries!
